Defense and war strategy of Rasool Kareem
After the migration to Madinah,
the Holy Prophet ļ·ŗ
paid special attention to the settlement of the emigrants through
"Mawakhat", the establishment of peace in Madinah-ul-Nabi through
Ansar Madinah, the stability of the state, interior affairs and defense.
Therefore, in the beginning, military and defense agreements were made with the
tribes living in the north, then south and then east region of Madinah.
succeeded in making him his ally.
Probably the Messenger of Allah ļ·ŗ
would have suggested to these allied tribes that you are alone. Your enemies
are there, if they attack you, no one will help you. In these circumstances, is
it not appropriate that you and we become allies? We promise that if someone
attacks you, we will come to your aid. And if someone attacks us and we call
you, you should also come to help.
In these types of agreements, it
was clear that it was a military agreement only. "Five, seven agreements
of this kind have been preserved in history till now. If we consider them, it
will be seen that the plan to secure the state of Madinah is being made in such
a way that the areas around Madinah are made allies so that if the enemy
(Especially the infidels of Quraysh) should not reach Madinah directly will
give
As if, a "mandal"
circle was established. From the very beginning, the Prophet ļ·ŗ established settlements
of allies around Madinah from a defensive point of view, and then with the help
of those friends, Madinah was protected from a defensive war point of view.
It is a fact that the infidel
Quraysh in Makkah used all tactics in enmity and opposition to Islam, the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the Companions. They did
what was possible, took all possible measures to block the way of Islam and
Muslims.
The Companions of the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) broke mountains of oppression and
oppression on the Ijma'een, until the Quraysh were fed up with the atrocities
of Makkah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the
Companions were forced to leave everything and migrate to Madinah. When the
Companions came to Madinah, the infidels of Makkah seized their properties.
Under these circumstances, the Muslims had the right under the law of nature to
take revenge on them both physically and financially.
In the beginning, Muslims did not
have enough military strength and resources. That they should inflict
casualties on the enemy, but the Muslims started putting economic pressure on
them. On the other hand, the Quraish of Makkah had no other means of pastime
except trade. So, before the Battle of Badr, Muslim soldiers went to stop the
Quraysh trade caravan about seven times, but it did not reach them. But somehow
escaped.
However, efforts are ongoing. The
means of obtaining information began to be developed. Attention was paid to
increasing the number of allies. Therefore, the measures that were possible
from the defense and war point of view should be adopted. When Quraysh saw that
the Muslims would not let them pass easily. So they decided to force their way
through.
DEFENSE AND WAR STRATEGY BEFORE THE BATTLE OF BADR:-
It is an event just before the
Battle of Badr. When the Messenger of Allah (ļ·ŗ) saw that the Quraysh
had gone to Makkah from the north, it occurred to him (ļ·ŗ) that the enemy's
caravan would return by this route. He cannot return by any other way.
Therefore, two spies were appointed to go to the country of Syria and stay near
this trade caravan. As soon as this caravan makes arrangements it intends to
return. Be informed quickly that the enemy is coming.
The interesting thing is that
when these two spies quickly returned to Madinah, they saw that the Messenger
of Allah (ļ·ŗ)
had been informed of the arrival of the caravan through other sources and he (ļ·ŗ)
had already left Madinah. From this it has to be concluded that the Messenger
of Allah ļ·ŗ
used various means so that the news of the enemy would reach the Muslims and he
would also make arrangements so that the news of the Muslims could not reach
the enemies. The Messenger of Allah (ļ·ŗ) had left Madinah and due to the frost, instead of going towards
the north of Madinah, the soldiers went towards the south in order to reach a
safe place before the enemy arrived. Where it is possible to stop the enemy.
The place of Badr was chosen for this.
This place passes through narrow
valleys between high hills, so it was possible with relative ease for the
Muslims to settle in a place where there is a narrow path. He remained hidden
in the mountains, the enemy came unawares and they were able to attack him.
STRATEGIC, MILITARY AND DEFENSE POLICY:-
In these circumstances, full
attention was paid to all strategic, military and defense issues. Even the Holy
Prophet ļ·ŗ
ordered to remove the bells from the necks of the camels. It is known that he ļ·ŗ
did this to hide the movement of the army. Because the bells make a loud noise
when the camels defecate. Which makes it easy to find out the location of the
enemy’s camp? The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) also sent his spies to find
out the conditions of the enemy's convoy.
A comparison of the intelligence
of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and today:-
Nowadays they are called
intelligence or situational awareness devices. The men of intelligence spread
here and there before the army, one of them was Bisbis bin Amr Jahni and the
other was Udi bin Abi al-Zaghba. These two were the first persons. Who was sent
by the Holy Prophet to Badr to find out the situation of Abu Sufyan.
The Prophet ļ·ŗ chose an inner part
of Badr with the advice of his Companions. Where the well was. In this, the
expediency was kept in mind that if the disbelievers come to Makkah Badr, they
will also need water and there was only one well of water. If he remains in the
possession of the Muslims. So the enemy will come here. In this way, the enemy
will gain superiority from a combat point of view. A pit was also dug with the
advice of some companions. In which abundant water was stored. There was a
secret in it that if someone feels thirsty during the war, it will be difficult
to draw water from a deep well and drink it. During this time, if the enemy
attacks, it can also cause damage. Therefore, it would be appropriate to have a
pit filled with water and the soldiers should immediately drink water from the
chalo on reaching there. If the enemy comes here and needs to drink water, some
people should be stationed here to monitor it. Although today this strategy is
of little benefit, but in those times it proved to be very useful from the
military and defense point of view.
QUESTION, ANSWER AND DEFENSE ANALYSIS:-
Meanwhile, the enemy's army from
Makkah reached there under the leadership of Abu Jahl. A surveillance squad
(patrol) was sent to find out the number of enemy's army. He arrested two men
of the enemy's army and presented them before the Holy Prophet. He asked them
questions. There are also two things that seem to be of great interest and
fundamental importance from a military and military point of view.
The Messenger of Allah ļ·ŗ
asked them, "Who are you?" He replied, "We are the soldiers of
the army coming from Makkah." Then he asked a touching question, "How
many camels are slaughtered for your people's food every day?" He replied,
"One day, nine." After hearing this, the Holy Prophet (PBUH)
immediately concluded that their number would be between nine hundred and one
thousand. Because one camel is enough for one day's food for one hundred
people.
"QUESTIONS ABOUT MILITARY OFFICERS":-
A question was asked to him that
which names are there in the army. With this question, he probably wanted to
guess who would command the army during the war. Who will be in the Lamb? Who
will be in Mesra, Who can be who in different places?
Briefly, if we consider the details of the Battle of Badr, it is known that the Prophet of Islam had already implemented the basic principles and rules of war that had been laid down by the experts of war in the present era.
