ISRAELI STRIKES FLATTEN BUILDING, MOSQUES IN GAZA AGAINST ISRAEL VS HAMAS WAR
As tensions continue to
grow on the second day, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 313 and there are
close to 2,000 injuries.
Israel's military reported
that at least 313 Palestinians were killed as it attacked 426 targets in Gaza,
razing homes in enormous blasts.
20 kids were among those
slain in Gaza. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, another 2,000
people have been injured.
More than 20,000 Palestinians, according to
the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near
East (UNRWA), abandoned the border area of Gaza to go deeper inside the enclave
and seek sanctuary in UN schools.
NGO Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRC)
spokesperson Nebal Farsakh told Al Jazeera that their medical teams were
encountering "great challenges" in Gaza and that they had urged the
international aid community to open humanitarian corridors so that organizations
like theirs could safely carry out their work of aiding people in the Gaza
Strip.
Israel's energy minister, Israel Katz,
announced on Saturday night that the country would cut off the territory's
access to electricity. The two million-person Palestinian enclave has been
subject to an Israeli air, land, and sea siege.
According to Youmna ElSayed, there has been a
"constant deterioration" in the Gaza Strip's humanitarian situation.
According to ElSayed, the Palestinian
Authority-funded power plants that once produced 120 megawatts of electricity
are now only producing 20MW.
Due to Israel's decision to cut off the
electrical supply, healthcare facilities had to rely on backup generators to
stay open through the night, leaving inhabitants to endure the darkness to the
eerie sound of nearby explosions.
